Why We Lack Focus & Self-Discipline

This is a hard one. We all wish to do so much in our live. We want to travel, see America, China, Africa, go skiing in the Alps, rent a boat and discover the islands, make bungee jumping, go sky diving, buy this cool smartphone, buy this new clothes, get a nice kitchen etc...

There are so many things that we want. From my own perspective I can say that I also want so much more than I have. And why dont I have it? Lack of focus and discipline.

I truely believe that you can turn your whole life around in a year, but also in 5 years or in 10 years or never.

Most people wish that they will change their lives in 1 year and very often they never succeed.

The problem is that when you want to change your life in just 1 year its harder than in 5 years and on the way many fail, procrastinate or give up following their goals.

On the other side, we don't want to wait for our success. Most people want it to come true literally immediately. And if it doesn't they give up and decide to not go after it anyway... Then a couple of month later they are confronted with their "old" situation again and start over again...

Ever had a New Year's resolution that you have repeatedly done year after year?

Welcome, you are a DREAMER!

But don't worry, sometimes people need more than one try, but please don't wait too long, otherwise you might consider of not going anywhere.

But why do we fail? procrastinate? give up?

The easy reason is that we don't see enough urgency of fullfilling our desires.

If somebody holds a gun to your head every night before you go to bed and tells you that he will shoot you if you don't get up at 6 o clock and go running for a half an hour, how quickly do you think you could implement this new habit?

From an option it gets an obligation and an option is a can. You can decide if you want to do it or not. In contrary an obligation is a must. You don't have another option.

So, what can you do to fulfil your desire. Right, make it an obligation. How to do it? It's tough to give a good answer, as their is not a WATERPROOF answer. It will involve HEAPS of commitment, you will have to feed your mind with motivating / positive content.

First of all, you HAVE TO write down what you want to change. Here comes the first problem, 80% of people are  not willing to get a pen and a piece of paper, but what they do is just read this text and keep relaxing in their comfy position. Are you belonging to the fu***** 80% or do you really want to change your life?

I know, I know, the problem is that you are in a very passive state. The only way to get out of this state and being proactively and getting you too write your desires down, is to stand up and grab a piece of paper. It really does not matter if the paper is a newspaper, your toilet paper or a used tissure. Just find a spot to write the one thing down you want to change. If its weight lost, write weight lost, if its learning for an exam, write this one the paper, if its stop drinking, stop smoking etc. write this on the piece of paper...

Well, what now? Now you have this bloody damn paper, right, but what should you do with it? Keep it, hide it in your pursue, your socks, your undies, wherever it suits you...

The next step is as important: Take a look at the following video, BUT give me one promise: You are just allowed to watch this one video. You can repeat it thousand times but you are not allowed to look at something else, ok? OK? OOOOKKKK?

After you have watched the video, You will be motivated. To be truely honest. The best thing to do after watching this video is, doing something physical. It does actually not matter what, but all is better than just sitting or lying around.

Personally, I would go for a run or hit the gym. You have to do something physical BECAUSE: MOTION DRIVES EMOTION!

Ever had a happy feeling after running, hiking, weight-lifting, kayaking, playing badminton, soccer or whatever? Your motion contributes to your emotion.

This was LESSON 1
